The Recovery eBook · 2026 Edition
Forty-five recipes for the two weeks around a procedure — protein that helps the body do the repair work, fiber for the problem nobody warns you about, and meals you can make sitting down or not make at all — with the amounts written out and the whole thing designed to sit alongside your surgeon's instructions.
The part the consultation skipped
You got the date, the garment list, the fasting time and the aftercare sheet. What nobody sat you down for was the ordinary reality of the two weeks: no appetite, anesthetic nausea, a stomach shut down by the pain medication, and a fridge full of things you now cannot stand up long enough to cook.
The garment cost more than this. The consultation cost more than this. This is the ten dollars that decides whether week one is prepped or improvised.

Days 1–4 · when nothing appeals
Make this the week before and freeze it flat. On day three you want to reheat something, not cook it.
Warm the broth gently — it should steam, never boil.
Stir the chicken and grated carrot through and give it two minutes.
Finish with the lemon off the heat, and taste before you salt.
Cool anything you are not eating and freeze it in single portions.
Two weeks of delivery meals: $180–$300

Underneath. Fasting times, when you may eat and drink, wound care, medication and every clinical instruction come from your surgical team, and where they differ from anything here, theirs applies. This is food for two weeks that are harder than anyone tells you — nothing more, and nothing claimed about your result.
